Format

Registration is open from 5.30 pm and the forum starts at 6pm. ·The event format includes pre-drinks and snack, so everyone is encouraged to relax and network before the companies present.

Power Textiles and Maddie & Marks will·present their strategic issues and ask the audience for feedback on a number of points regarding their future plans. ·Our guest commentators David Farquhar - Nelson Gray -  Iain Scott and David Wilson will give·their views on the relevant company presentations to help facilitate discussion and debate. The audience (comprising a variety of advisers, investors and companies) will then discuss each presentation and give their own feedback on a "round-table" basis. The aim of these events is to help the presenting companies by giving constructive feed-back on their presentations with a view to helping them take their company to the next level. The event will also provide excellent networking opportunities for the audience members and give them a chance to reflect on the key strategic issues that face their own businesses in 2012.

About Power Textiles Ltd     http://www.powertextiles.com/

Power Textiles Limited (PTL) is a development company launched in 2007 as a result of a SMART:SCOTLAND award from the Scottish Government sought by Mather Technology Solutions.  (Mather Technology Solutions is a small consultancy business, specialising in technical textiles, run by Robert Mather).  PTL is based in Selkirk, in the heart of the Scottish Borders.  The company’s competency and strategic activity are the development and optimisation of textile fabrics on which solar (photovoltaic) cells have been directly integrated.  Their approach capitalises on the commercial awareness of the ever-increasing market for solar panels.

The company is currently developing a solar cell coating process on a laboratory scale, in such a way that it can be scaled up to production level. This would be achieved by roll-to-roll coating on continuous fabric to produce solar cell arrays generating electricity in preselected combinations of current and voltage. A wide variety of applications is envisaged for this unique product, including agricultural applications, mounting for temporary accommodation (for refugees/emergency use/disaster areas), permanent fixtures on buildings (roofs/awnings) and military and defence applications.

About Maddie & Mark's www.maddieandmarks.co.uk

We are an independent children’s shoe shop with three shoe shops in Edinburgh and one in Glasgow. We offer a wide range of continental shoes for girls and boys.  From soft leather shoes for babies through to school, casual or fashion shoes for children we understand that suitable footwear is crucial to the growth and development of your child.
Our range is designed to embrace all shapes and sizes from slim to wide fitting, half and full sizes. We take great care to ensure that everyone in our team is expertly trained in shoe fitting, giving you complete peace of mind.  We pride ourselves on being able to find shoes to fit every child and for that reason we take special orders if needed. We like a challenge and thanks to a close relationship with our suppliers and other independent retailers around the country we go to every length to find a shoe that works best for each child.
So many mums love our children’s shoes they asked if we would start stocking some shoes for them, too. So on our travels around the shoe fairs of Europe we cherry-picked a select range of comfy but stylish, funky shoes for ladies. In between shoe fairs, we pop along to gift fairs to see if we can pick up quirky and fun accessories in the shape of handbags, socks and tights, hair clips, quirky T-shirts and raincoats, as well as rag dolls and soft toys.
