English by birth, but brought up throughout Europe, Aydin graduated MBChB in Edinburgh in 1998.

Having set up Lumison whilst still a 2^nd yr student, Aydin ran the business part time until getting his GMC registration.  After working as a junior house officer for a year, he left the medical profession to run the business fulltime.  The business has grown from small regional Internet provider to become a full service, UK-wide business-class ISP, with managed hosting, network and voice services, as well as wholly-owned Tier-III datacentres in Edinburgh and London, as well as infrastructure in a number of 3^rd party facilities in the UK and USA.

Lumison had a majority stake acquired by Bridgepoint Development Capital, a major European Private Equity business as the platform for growing a significant SME and Mid-market IT Services business.

The business has won business growth awards such as listings in the Deloitte & Touch Fast 50 and European Fast 500, the Sunday Times TechTrak, and Aydin has been shortlisted as an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, and won Young Entrepreneur of the Year at the Insider Business Awards 2010.
